Welcome to Living in Full Flavor: My Journey, My Mission
From Healing Others to Healing Myself
Hey y’all, I’m Kelvin, and it’s an honor to welcome you to this platform of mine, where I hope to share so much with you. I like to think that I’m a very normal guy, but sometimes I feel like I’ve lived a whole other life. If you had told me at 21 that I would spend the next several years helping people heal—from high blood pressure to depression to even life-threatening conditions—I probably wouldn’t have believed you. But that’s exactly what happened.
I dove deep into veganism, plant-based healing, and herbal medicine, creating formulas that helped people transform their health in ways I never imagined possible. I took on the name Chicago Sea Moss Expert, and boy, did I buy into every bit of that as my personal brand and lifestyle.
It started with Goddess Tea, a simple herbal blend I created that helped women ease menstrual pain. Not that I necessarily intended for that to be the outcome—at least not initially. It was all in the spirit of love, curiosity, and discovery. Plus, at that point, I hadn’t learned much about science and herbology yet.
But those early moments—seeing something I crafted genuinely change people’s lives in real time—lit a spark in me. That fire pushed me toward a future I never could have imagined. Every day, I studied, absorbing new knowledge rapidly and developing an intimate comprehension of it. Empowered by this wisdom, I began formulating herbal tonics, sea moss blends, and targeted remedies, combining up to 17 herbs at a time to address real health challenges. I helped people avoid surgeries, reverse chronic conditions, and regain control over their well-being. Even now, I’m still amazed I'm the guy that did all of that -- it can feel sureal. I was just a young Black man in Chicago trying to figure out my own life, yet I was making such a deep impact on others. I'm grateful to have been in that position.
But like I said, I had my own struggles in my life. At my highest point of helping others, I was struggling myself. I was broke. I was burnt out. I was giving everything to help others, and that left me with nothing left to give myself. So, I walked away… and honestly, it broke my heart.
Stepping Back to Move Forward
For two years, I stepped back, and that came with a lot of guilt and heartbreak. I felt like I had abandoned my mission and the people who needed me. But ultimately, I needed myself, and I had to learn that that was okay. My focus shifted to working on me, allowing myself the freedom to feel however I wanted—whether good or bad—without overbearing self-judgment. But I always kept in mind that one day, I’d step back into my purpose.
In the meantime, I sought out normalcy. I worked at Verizon, put healing on pause, and even abandoned veganism—eating whatever I wanted, disconnecting from the journey I had once been so passionate about. But something inside me always called me back. Because healing—whether it’s physical, mental, or spiritual—isn’t about being perfect. It’s about finding balance, learning from every phase, and always returning to your truth. As my grandma would say, “Keep a-livin’.”
What Is Living in Full Flavor?
This isn’t just a food blog or a wellness blog—it’s a space where we explore culture, health, personal growth, and the richness of life itself.
It’s about health—but in a way that acknowledges real struggles. I’ve been plant-based, and I’ve eaten junk food. I’ve been the healer, and I’ve needed the healing. I’ve been an athlete, and I’ve been a lazy log. This space is about real conversations on wellness—not perfection, but progress. We keep it real here.
It’s about culture—because healing is bigger than just one person. Food, health, and traditions are deeply tied to our history, our ancestors, and our communities. We’re not just talking about “eating better”—we’re talking about reclaiming knowledge, understanding our roots, and using cultural wisdom to move forward.
It’s about personal growth—because health is more than just the body. What we consume mentally, emotionally, and spiritually shapes us just as much as the food on our plate. This space is about learning, evolving, and expanding into the best version of ourselves.
I don’t have all the answers. I’m not here to preach a perfect lifestyle. I’m here to share, explore, and connect.
Why This Matters
Wellness is more than just diet and exercise. It’s about wholeness—embracing all parts of yourself: the disciplined moments, the messy moments, and the growth in between.
If you’ve ever wanted to be healthier but didn’t know where to start, this space is for you.
If you’ve ever felt like cultural traditions were lost in the noise of modern wellness trends, this space is for you.
If you’ve ever felt like you were meant for more but weren’t sure how to step into it, this space is for you.
Living in Full Flavor isn’t just about creating a life of health—it’s about creating a life that’s rich, meaningful, and true to you—physically, mentally, and culturally.
